I love the Number (N)ine aesthetic to death, but the new collection leaves me disappointed. Designer Takahiro Miyashita has ditched iconic legend Kurt Cobain for the late Rolling Stones member, Brian Jones (pictured left). Leaving behind a grungy but sophisticated build of light layers, the new collection is a dramatic fuse of victorian dandyism and severe silhouettes. The new collection is a meeting of A Clockwork Orange and Robin Hood. I’m trying so hard to visualize each piece on its own, but it is so hard, because together the pieces are so overbearing and far too heavy for spring. I’ll have to wait until I see the actual collection in person to make a final call.
