With the main stage taking shape around a square white space, Petar Petrov set the expectation for color at his latest show and he did not disappoint. Sending his models down the runway with a fixed cheeky grin, Petrov’s collection was instantly met by smiles. A range of tailored separates proved a mature angle for the young designer, but the usual fun of Petrov’s work was dialed up as an essential ingredient. Jagged cuts may have been embraced for a subtle statement, but the real character came to fruition in the quirky proportions and details that ranged from cropped shirts and sheer shorts to shrunken elements. At large, Petrov managed to present a technical collection, while also cutting away at the seriousness with a nonchalant infusion of spirited life.
