Modern Eclecticism–The mix of styles and cultures found in Brooklyn neighborhoods provide the inspirational path for Alder New York’s Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. Founders David Krause and Nina Zilka looked to their local streets for ideas behind the designs, from religious motifs and street influenced separates to sequined button ups inspired by those manufactured in Brooklyn-based factories. The contrast of fabrics and colors was another key element in the collection, including a navy wool trucker jacket with black pony hair sleeves as a signature staple. In addition, Alder New York collaborated with jewelry designer Robin Mollicone, who accessorized the looks with Native American-inspired bead work, necklaces, key fobs, and pins.
