Often referenced in tracks by rappers such as A$AP Rocky (Fashion Killa) and Jay-Z (Suit and Tie), it was no surprise to see Alexander Wang reference Hip-Hop culture for his fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. His first namesake show since leaving Balenciaga, Wang unveiled a selection for the upcoming season during New York Fashion Week. Known for his streetwear-inspired aesthetic, Wang perfectly married rich fabrics such as mohair and shearling with a humorous take on the season. Sweaters featured silhouettes of strippers while logos reading tender payed tribute to streetwear brand Supreme.
