Paris Fashion Week marks the first solo outing for Alexis Mabille’s menswear collection, which is typically shown side by side with his womenswear line. For the upcoming spring season, Mabille approached his collection with the desire to mirror his own personal style. He wanted a line that was dressy, but at the end of the day, very casual and easygoing. He accomplished this goal with relaxed pieces that bucked the norm in a reasonable fashion by tweaking minor details such as a curved lapel, suspenders intentionally worn backwards, crystal buttons, robe-like coats or simple trousers dressed in a silk oriental print. Mabille’s collection is simply chic, balancing re-imagined but accessible basics with several risky cuts that at the end of the day represent the diversity that any wardrobe should house.
