Designer Antonio Marras combined references for his fall-winter 2015 menswear collection, finding inspiration in Sardinian artist Constantino Nivola and the famous Robert De Niro film Taxi Driver. The inspirations came together seamlessly with Nivola moving to the Hamptons and the urban grit of De Niro’s character, Travis Bickle. The results were brilliant with a balancing act of vintage references and modern pacing. Dressed for the urban jungle, Marras played with textiles as usual, embracing patched together jackets and coats. Relaxed tailoring on suits worked hand in hand with fantastic prints and fur accents. Touching on knitwear, layers came together in monochromatic schemes, while a new take on the camouflage print brought the collection full circle with a phenomenal execution.
