Oliver Rousteing’s Balmain is as much about the clothes as the presentation. Beginning with models, Balmain’s fall-winter 2016 men’s show was opened by none other than Jon Kortajarena.

Representing an explorer fusing travel references with the French aristocrat, a regal wardrobe was donned by a sequence of top male models, including Sean O’Pry, Marlon Teixeira, Francisco Lachowski, and Balmain muse Dudley O’Shaughnessy.

The Balmain men’s collection celebrates the classic French aristocratic style. The collection features all of the elements that we know and love from Balmain: high-quality leather, expert tailoring, and a focus on clean lines. But this time around, it’s all about the Balmain jackets.

Building up looks that demand a dissection, the Balmain man generously layered embroidered jackets, gold-adorned cummerbunds, military-style coats, draped tops, and checked sweaters.

Accessorized with leather gloves and riding boots, trousers were lean or tapered. Embracing velvet and leather, the season was about luxury. Stripes, paisley prints, buffalo checks, and plaids contributed to the collection that revisited brand classics with an indulgent yearning.
