Batman Turns 75–Batman celebrates his 75th birthday this year, with actor Ben Affleck set to don the iconic cape in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film, which also stars Henry Cavill. Batman made his debut in Detective Comics’ twenty-seventh issue, published in May of 1939, and the rest, as they say, is comic book history.

The cape crusader has unquestionably impacted popular culture, having appeared in numerous incarnations in back issue comics, films, and animated shows. His likeness has inspired many products, including toys, mugs, t-shirts, action figures, and more.
