Belstaff heads north with its fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. Imagining a fearless adventure that takes its man through dangerous terrains and snow covered mountains, surrounded by icy glaciers, Belstaff serves up its quality outerwear with an arctic flair. The brand’s fashions for the season combine a luxurious finishes with a utilitarian demand, protecting against water, friction and wind.

Discussing the collection, Belstaff VP of Men’s Design Frederik Dyhr shares, “We were inspired by the pioneers of endurance riding who threaded their bikes through some of the most inhospitable conditions for the sheer challenge of the journey.” Dyhr continues, “Hence the concept of protection from the elements was integral to the design. By drawing upon the Belstaff heritage, we have provided an unmatched level of functionality and technical detailing, with added warmth and comfort.”

Addressing the changing temperatures around the globe, Belstaff made it a focus point for its outerwear to be equipped for adapting to various conditions. Armed with modular hoods and linings that provide for a regulation of temperature, Belstaff also protects against extreme conditions with its water-repellent tri-layer.

Talking more about the technical aspects of the range, Belstaff CEO Gavin Haig explains, “The concept of adaptability in our Autumn 16 (pre) collection couldn’t be more relevant given the unusually mild weather we’re experiencing.”

Haig adds, “Our multiple membranes and linings mean that Belstaff outerwear easily adjusts to temperatures and layers can be peeled off. That said, meteorologists expect El Niño’s frostier sister La Niña to take over this time next year: the more directional Winter 16 collection you see here will ensure you are prepared.”
