The latest collection from designer Clayton Evans’ label, Complex Geometries “examines the conflict and co-existence of moral ideals.” Taking particularly to the matter of gray area, the collection draws inspiration from references as varied as religious icons and ghostly apparitions. Following the discourse of the distinction between right and wrong, Evans cleverly made his pieces with the ability to be worn from both sides. There is no defined front or back – no right or wrong. Details like the orientation can be appreciated in part because of the modest color palette of black, white, and gray with soft hues of pink and purple. However, this modesty is in great contrast to the dynamic slouchy shapes and silhouettes that make this collection attractive. In addition to the lookbook, the “…Between Good and Evil” collection has been interpreted into five short videos by different artists: Jason Last, Renata Morales, Tracy Maurice, Stacy Lundeen and Arianna. Given free range of the collection and no limitations, the videos echo the sentiments of a gray area that is open to the exploration of diversity.
