Uncovering the modern savage, finding his beauty and reinterpreting it, Blaak Homme designers Sachiko Okada and Aaron Sharif create a modern urban tribe with their spring 2010 collection titled, “Somewhere Between Voodoo & Hindu”. Wearing neck pieces made of silver-plated copper electroform twigs, the diverse cast embodied the modern cross-cultural interactions that Okada and Sharif drew inspiration from. Downplayed in colors of bone white, blood red and earth black, the collection brought forth an eclectic mix of modest relaxed garments. However, animal prints and knee pads sought to give the collection a wild personality, while luxury became a player with the addition of velvet jackets and suede adorned knits. At large, the collection and Blaak Homme overall, reflect the changing demographics of menswear and the new focus on the younger generation, who are willing to step outside the standard suit and take risks.
Great collection! Lots of layers, each piece is different. Lots of contrasts in texture, colour etc… rock on! & the models rock too!
