Italian fashion brand Boglioli announces its first creative director. Designer Davide Marello has been appointed as creative director for both Boglioli’s menswear and womenwear lines. Under Marello’s direction, Boglioli hopes to evolve and grow its brand. Marello’s impressive background includes past stints at Giorgio Armani and Gucci, where he focused nine years on formal menswear.
Boglioli president and CEO Giovanni Mannucci discusses the appointment, sharing, “Many have asked me, ‘Why do you need a Creative Director?’ I am firmly convinced that, while the house has been successful for the past 20 years, the creative director will be instrumental in transforming the brand’s heritage into a new vision of our tailoring tradition.”
Discussing traditions and a need for fresh ideas, Mannucci continues, “Our customers appreciate the Boglioli jackets, both for their modernity and timelessness. But in a fast-changing world, they are increasingly interested in learning more about the brand, its history and our values. Together with Davide as creative director, our objective is to share our affection, to develop the innovation of Boglioli and to further our commitment to excellence and elegance.”
Marello will present his first menswear collection for Boglioli in January 2016 when brands stage elaborate shows during Milan Fashion Week for the fall-winter 2016 season.
