Bottega Veneta embraces a quiet elegance for its fall-winter 2016 men’s collection.

Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier had a clear goal in mind when it came to the Italian fashion house’s fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. Proposing a quiet but confident season, Maier focused on long silhouettes and a careful mix of luxurious materials. Contributing to a simple image, relaxed tailoring took center stage as the show opened with dark suiting numbers, accented with scarves and even an oversized wrap.

Moving on to the label’s signature love for leather, trench coats and short jackets made quite the impression in red, blue, black and green. Elevating the lineup with a great penchant for details, Maier explained, “I am always thinking about materials and the way they go together. It is their beauty, in all their different weights, textures and colorations.” Following this philosophy, needle-punched wool checks and cotton-linen velvet dressed the season’s hero pieces.
