The first chapter of Brunello Cucinelli’s spring-summer 2025 campaign, titled “Prelude to Discovery,” opens like a vintage postcard found in a worn leather satchel. Photographed by Morgan Pilcher with styling by Michela Buratti, the chapter takes place in an airfield bathed in golden hour light.
Brunello Cucinelli Spring 2025

It’s a cinematic stage where Mark Vanderloo and Thatcher Thornton embody an elegant departure. The duo, surrounded by planes and open hangars, wear the idea of travel with sincerity. Soft tailoring, cable knits, and leather jackets provide a wardrobe steeped in nostalgia, reminiscent of the jet age filtered through a modern lens.

This season, there’s a tactile interplay between contemporary silhouettes and retro-inflected romance. A belted leather field jacket, paired with high-waisted pinstripe trousers, nods to the ’30s aviator while maintaining the polish of Brunello Cucinelli’s signature refinement.

The palette is grounded—ivories, chocolates, and tobacco—grounding the narrative in a transitional moment before departure. Meanwhile, the softness of the light works in tandem with the clothes, creating the sense of time stretching just before motion.

“Prelude to Discovery” sets the tone for a season shaped by calm focus. It lingers in this first act with purpose, allowing the atmosphere to do the talking. The stillness mirrors the clothes themselves—measured, unforced, and drawn from heritage.

In this suspended space, Brunello Cucinelli favors reflection over urgency, letting the present stretch with the assurance of something timeless.
