PinPrepare for a season of layering with Burberry’s oversized short-sleeve smock shirt. “Seminal sculptor Mr Henry Moore is the inspiration behind Burberry’s latest collection. Modeled on practical styles worn by the British artist in his studio, this woven smock shirt is cut for an oversized fit and finished with a draped spread collar, wide placket and cuffed sleeves. The muted indigo hue also recalls bleu de travail – French workers’ jackets from the early 19th century.”PinThe classic trench receives an update with Burberry’s playful exploration of sleeve proportions. “Burberry’s signature cotton-gabardine trench coat is updated with exaggerated, detachable cuff tabs, inspired by the sculptural forms of artist Mr Henry Moore. Made in the brand’s mill in Yorkshire, England, this weather-proof style has a single-breasted silhouette and loose fit. It is partially lined at the shoulders in the label’s iconic check and has an inverted back pleat for ease of movement.”PinMake a knitted statement with Burberry’s patchwork cable-knit sweater. “Mr Henry Moore’s art was heavily informed by the rolling hills of the Northern landscape, and provides the inspiration for Burberry’s latest collection – created by fellow Yorkshireman Mr Christopher Bailey. This cotton-blend sweater has been made in Italy in a collage of cable and ribbed knits. The asymmetric cuffs nod to the hollowed recesses of Mr Moore’s reclining figures.”PinComfort and style come together with Burberry’s jersey cotton and silk striped sweatshirt. “Burberry’s sweatshirt is made from an inspired combination of Breton-striped silk and weighty grey jersey; it feels both sporty and refined. This piece has deep side slits to facilitate layering – try yours over a longer-length tee to accentuate the boxy structure.”PinTap into a nautical ease with Burberry’s cable-knit sweater. “Burberry’s latest collection is inspired by the late Mr Henry Moore’s abstract sculptures – the exaggerated proportions on this cream cotton-blend sweater evoke the artist’s naturalistic forms. The dropped shoulders accentuate the heavy drape and weighty gauge of the fabric, while plush cable-knit stripes and tonal wool-blend sleeve panels provide rich texture. Balance the oversized fit with slim trousers.”
