Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2014–Entitling his latest collection A Painterly Journey, Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey looked to the work of artists Ben Nicholson, Christopher Wood, Lucian Freud and Duncan Grant for the inspiration of his fall/winter 2014 collection. Interjecting the season with a certain romanticism, light layers of iconic Burberry pieces were reworked for a chic new undertaking. Here reversible trench coats, sheepskin jackets and relaxed chesterfields were paired with fisherman’s rib cardigans, oversized artist’s shirts and aran sweaters. Dressed in silk, cashmere and wool, the collection’s incredible offering was accented with choice accessories that included painted iconic check scarves, British-woven blankets and hand-painted printed silk squares, among other items.
