Buscemi dreams up a Permanent Vacation for its spring-summer 2016 outing. Creative director Jon Buscemi looks to craft an arena that showcases luxury and craft. Buscemi explains, “I was inspired by this idea of being on a permanent vacation.” The designer addresses the idea of forever and a disconnect from reality.” Buscemi continues, “I think that true luxury is being able to explore the world without anything calling you back. In my own travels, I appreciate the opportunity to discover old and new things like traditional craftsmanship, unique materials, special techniques and iconic patterns.”
Buscemi Spring/Summer 2016 Campaign
Expanding on the concept behind his spring-summer 2016 collection, Buscemi suggests, “The idea of having to pick what you would need to wear or drink or eat or listen too for the rest of your life in multiple amazing locales.” The footwear designer adds, “When choosing our palette and leathers/materials for the collection, we called upon the world’s finest fabric makers in Central Italy. You will see Italian ‘Ricamo’ embroideries, vegetable-tanned sustainable leathers, seasonal neoprene and nautical canvases telling the seaside story. Also this story involves horticulture and martinique palms; an ode to permanently being yourself.”
Capturing the spirit of the collection, Buscemi’s campaign features models Andres Velencoso Segura and Giedre Dukauskaite. The models couple up for the lens of photographer Javier Vallhonrat. Highlighting Buscemi’s latest shoes and sandals, Andres and Giedre are styled by Leila Smara. / Creative and art direction by Van & Partners. Hair by Valentin. Makeup by Maria Olsson.
