New York-based fashion brand Cadet presented its spring-summer 2017 collection, entitled Roman Legion during New York Fashion Week: Men. Designers Raul Arevalo and Brad Schmidt took inspiration from a recent Italian holiday. Citing Italian art, architecture, and fashion as inspiration, the designers discovered a softer edge for their signature military aesthetic. Approaching the season, first Arevalo and Schmidt initiated a collaboration with Reda to develop pure merino wool fabrications that were mixed with silk and linen.

The light fabrics helped guide the direction of the collection with relaxed silhouettes contributing to the season’s uniform. Here, zippered crewnecks and elevated slogan sweatshirts came together with a smart selection of tailored trousers and belted shorts. While coordinated, printed ensembles offered a neat solution to dressing, evolving details added a modern flair. The granddad collar shirt, as well as the bomber jacket, were treated to short sleeve versions for easy collection standouts.
