The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge-As of its August 25th update, The ALS Association has received $79.7 million in donations, thanks in part to its successful social media campaign, the Ice Bucket Challenge. Funds raised by The ALS Association go to assisting people affected by ALS and their families, research for a cure and lobbying for the advancement of public policies to help the nation respond to the needs of people with ALS. Money can be donated at ALSA.org.
