The Hollywood Reporter catches up with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and actor Chris Pratt for one of its latest cover stories. One of the year’s surprising blockbusters, Gunn and Pratt talk about the uncertainty going into the project. Pratt shares, “Everyone wants to win big, but no one wants to gamble. Every rule said, ‘You don’t make a movie with a talking tree,’ ‘You don’t spend this much money on a raccoon with a gun.'” Going into the movie, Gunn recalls, “I actually personally felt that people needed the color. They needed the humor and the fun-they just didn’t know it yet. But there were those nights at 3 a.m. when I would wake up and be like, ‘Oh my God, what am I doing?
