Sarah Burton Revisits Early Alexander McQueen

The Fashionisto / Published January 7, 2021

Sarah Burton renews a sense of old and new inspirations for Alexander McQueen’s pre-fall 2021 men’s collection. Considering a worldwide view grounded by the pandemic, Burton looked to breathe new life into existing fabrics. Married with innovative tailoring, which is the beating heart of McQueen menswear, the season delivers a concise selection of sharp looks. For example, fall’s lineup opens with a double-breasted coat in wool gabardine. The classic coat receives an interesting update with the addition of a parka back. Continuing to design hybrids of key clothing attire, highlights range from an oversized trench coat with kimono sleeves and a layered cutout t-shirt in white cotton jersey to a bomber jacket with dropped sleeves. From casual to formal, the McQueen man is renewed with an elegant edge.
