Demna Gvasalia revisited tailored house codes for Balenciaga’s spring-summer 2019 collection. The show opened with sleek double-breasted jackets and coats with strong squared shoulders. Meanwhile, details were minimum. Clean lines reinforced impeccable construction. Dark hues reigned with the occasional pop of color, courtesy of blue or red. Monochromatic themes surfaced as well with coordinated pieces and slouchy proportions. Poking fun at track pants, chic trousers with side stripes rounded out the collection.
