Olivier Rousteing designs for the modern nomad with Balmain’s fall-winter 2020 men’s collection. Rousteing looks to Earth for inspiration.
The designer shares, “We start with one basic truth: this is a tiny and beautiful planet, belonging to all. Here, we all share the same origin, needs, and desires, and any borders (both figurative and literal) only serve to wall us off and limit us. That’s why this collection celebrates, at its heart, the beauty of the earth and sky.
”
Reflecting an earthy color palette, draped silhouettes take the form of tops, tapered pants, and coats. Meanwhile, the Balmain man receives his own oversized version of the classic argyle sweater. Balmain’s classic tailored jackets make way for an explosion of colors with impactful looks that emphasize dramatic shapes.
