Berluti makes a graphic and textured statement with its fall-winter 2021 collection. Kris Van Assche entertains the ongoing dialogue between fashion and art. Van Assche collaborates with Russian artist Lev Khesin for the season.
Khesin’s abstract work is known for its layering of paint and silicon, which Van Assche mimics, focusing on textured elements. Reinterpreting the function of Khesin’s art, everything from outerwear to silk shirting serve as a modern canvas. This level of detail continues with Berluti’s house codes.
A welcomed obsession of Van Assche, Berluti’s signature patina evolves to include clothing, such as a rich leather jacket. The standout appears alongside abstract print jackets, shirts, and suits. Another detail to note is Berluti’s Norweigan stitch, which goes from its luxurious shoes to the finishing of apparel.
