Daniel Lee’s Vision for Burberry Shines in the Brand’s Fall Collection

The Fashionisto / Published February 22, 2023

Burberry’s fall-winter 2023 collection has created quite a buzz. The much-awaited debut collection from the new creative director Daniel Lee has been highly anticipated since news of his appointment in September 2022.

For his first expression, Lee has taken inspiration from the brand’s heritage and delivered a very British collection, which includes bold colors, graphic argyles and checks, and a focus on the Equestrian Knight Design. The lineup celebrates the brand’s history but with a modern twist.

The English rose is also a significant motif throughout the collection. Lee showcases chunky sweaters, graphic tees, oversized suiting, baggy trousers, and classic outerwear, such as the trench and duffle coat. The collection features a range of materials, including wool, cashmere, and leather, with the outerwear pieces trimmed with faux fur and shearling for added warmth and luxury.

Lee has also experimented with classic prints, adding a playful touch to the collection. One of the standout pieces is a bold and vibrant check turtleneck, making a splash in yellow and crimson hues. The sweater is paired with relaxed, pleated trousers, creating a stylish outfit.

In addition to the clothing, the accessories are just as noteworthy. The collection features a range of bags and tartan-dressed hot water bottles. Overall, Lee’s debut collection for Burberry is a beautiful blend of the brand’s heritage and contemporary style.

The collection is perfect for those who appreciate classic pieces but want to make a statement. The season celebrates British culture and fashion, focusing on the English rose and the Equestrian Knight Design.
