Hedi Slimane Plays It Smart for Celine Fall ’19 Men’s Show

The Fashionisto / Published January 20, 2019

While a rock ‘n’ roll spirit is close to heart for Hedi Slimane, the designer takes a more conservative approach to menswear this season. Paying a nod to the 1960s, tailoring is front and center for Celine’s fall-winter 2019 collection. Refined suiting, skinny ties, trim dress shirts, and elegant coats define the season.

However, there’s still space for Slimane’s brand of cool. Shrunken leather jackets and pants join distressed denim, animal print coats, and the occasional scarf. Moving away from ankle boots, Slimane makes a strong case for the loafer and classic white socks.
