Cerruti 1881 samples a variety of references for its eclectic fall-winter 2018 collection. Designer Jason Basmajian looks to post-punk, military, and streetwear inspirations for the season. The varied motifs are brought together in a wardrobe that reflects the multifaceted Cerruti customer. Front and center, tailoring grounds the collection with a chic attitude. The formal foundation adapts to many occasions as Basmajian works with a sleek color palette. It includes black, crème, burgundy, mustard, and nutmeg. The colors complement the rich use of velvet, shearling, silk jacquard wool, and cashmere. Cerruti’s man may shift from one character to the next with a fresh attitude. However, he embraces a constant in being well put together. He easily wears everything from a streetwear-inspired sweatshirt and jeans to rebellious leather pants or smart suiting separates.
