Coach Returns to the Runway with Carefree Spring Style

The Fashionisto / Published September 14, 2021

Coach hits the New York City catwalk once more as the brand unveils its spring-summer 2022 collection. Stuart Vevers works with Coach’s first head designer, Bonnie Cashin, for the season. The new collection serves as a love letter to New York, with Coach citing tribute to iconic destinations such as Central Park, Serendipity, Zabar’s, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

For his latest collection, Vevers also updates Coach classics for the current generation. “Spring presents my vision of a new vocabulary of American fashion inspired by our 80-year heritage through the lens of the next generation,” says Vevers. “A celebration, too, of the colorful, upbeat optimism of Coach’s first designer Bonnie Cashin, it’s a collection I designed in response to the times we are living through—and a collective wish for a better, brighter future.”

A casual attitude pervades Coach’s spring collection with a focus on denim. Sustainability is also at the forefront, with upcycled denim presented as essentials like jeans and denim vests. Cashin adds her voice to the mix with updates of vintage Bonnie Cashin outerwear and bags.
