David Koma’s Spring 2025 Men’s Debut Explores Masculinity

The Fashionisto / Published June 22, 2024

David Koma’s debut menswear collection for spring-summer 2025 embodies the designer’s vision of “Club Koma,” a world where masculinity is multifaceted and expressive.

Inspired by Jiří Kylián’s contemporary ballet Sarabande, which explores themes of male aggression and vulnerability, Koma’s creations encapsulate a spectrum of male identities.

Koma’s approach balances the strong, powerful male silhouette and subtle hints of vulnerability and sensuality, yielding garments with refined and playful elements.

While leather is often linked to rebellious attitudes, Koma’s collection presents a dual perspective. On the one hand, he refines the material with a rugged yet polished suit blazer and pants in distressed leather.

On the other hand, he roughens it up with a grunge-inspired ensemble featuring a torn knit with black leather pants, embracing raw, untamed energy—together, showcasing the complexities and nuances of contemporary men.

As the collection continues to defy expectations, a standout beige leather coat with black feather accents and matching boots highlights Koma’s flair for drama and boldness.

Military-inspired shirts are paired with denim in dusty indigo and raw boucle, adding to the collection’s eclectic charm. Meanwhile, Koma introduces a softer, sensual aspect to the collection by incorporating garter details and branded hardware in satin and wool boucle.

With his debut menswear collection, Koma honors the multifaceted nature of modern masculinity, drawing inspiration from the men in his inner circle. The range presents a dynamic interplay of strong, assertive silhouettes and soft, alluring textures, creating a rich and varied landscape of styles that resonate with the contemporary male identity.
