Dunhill Experiments with Tailoring for Spring ’21 Collection

The Fashionisto / Published September 29, 2020

Dunhill’s creative director Mark Weston indicated that its spring-summer 2021 men’s collection reflects a contemporary approach to the construction and deconstruction of menswear. There was much joy in making these fashion pieces, which is truly emphasized by each item’s meticulous details. Men regard clothes as a real investment, which is why there is a keen attention to quality applied in making every fine article of this impressive Dunhill men’s collection. The clothing tends to combine the element of elegance with the element of functionality as well.

Some people may see this collection as passing as a new type of workwear. There is an expression of the style of the high eighties within this collection that has been presented. Many tailoring styles impact this lineup, such as a modern form of romanticism that possesses classic Italian, Japanese, and British tailoring. Thus, it seems that the range represents elements of Dunhill’s past, current, and future.

It cannot be denied that this fine collection places a concentration on the pleasure of work and the gorgeousness of the refinement and functionality of the pieces. The trend is that investment on an emotional level and the clothing’s meaning are both at a high level of importance for the maker and the consumer who buys and wears the clothing. The ease of this menswear may seem to be noted as somewhat subversive. With the deconstruction and construction processes and the various tailoring elements, the overall result is an impressive collection.
