Dior Men Goes Futuristic with Fall ’21 Collection

The Fashionisto / Published December 9, 2020

Dior Men recently unveiled its fall-winter 2021 collection, and the season explores a “conversation between heritage and technology.” The brand’s artistic director, Kim Jones, tackles a galactic theme “where virtual and reality meet.” While the world is still coming to grips with the new reality spurned by COVID-19, escapism is welcomed. Jones considers Dior’s storied history and looks to an optimistic future. A certain joy is brought to Jones’s menswear with the influence of Kenny Scharf’s paintings like the “Viva Mare Viva Mar” and “When the Worlds Collide.” Not settling for simple graphics, the collection’s treatment is intricate with the use of brocade, fringe, metallic threads, and Chinese seed-stitch embroidery. Meanwhile, the Dior man is treated to a suit with casual sentiments. Jones approaches tailoring with the relaxed elegance of satin pajamas. Additional standouts for fall range from bomber jackets and embellished sweaters to short pants. For bags, Dior unveils its Saddle and Soft Saddle, dressed with jacquards and seed stitch embroidery. Alternatively, you can turn heads in one of the fashion house’s tambourine-style berets. Furthermore, leather boots and colored mules offer a chic option to complete looks. Meanwhile, Dior Men’s B27 sneakers round out its fall-winter 2021 collection in bright colors such as pink and blue.
