Ferragamo’s spring-summer 2025 collection orchestrates a dance between heritage and modernity as Maximilian Davis weaves the brand’s storied past into today’s silhouettes.
“I’ve always incorporated different historic eras in my work—eras which feel relatable to me and my heritage,” Davis reflects.
“At Ferragamo, I’ve sought out similarities—and the beauty of this brand is that there are so many different stories you can relate to. Every shoe has a meaning behind it. Every shoe has a story.”
This season’s ballet inspiration is palpable, with a nod to Rudolf Nureyev’s custom Ferragamo ballerina shoes from the 1980s. A sleeveless tank top paired with layered shorts showcases the influence of dancewear, while structured bags introduce a touch of pragmatism.
Tailoring expands into oversized dimensions, like a billowing trench coat that drapes with fluidity, reminiscent of ballet’s sweeping arm movements. Technical tracksuits add an athletic undertone, grounding the collection in versatility.
Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2025 Collection
The layering of knit shorts and elongated tops recalls the layers of a dancer’s rehearsal attire, each fold and tuck purposeful yet free. Light-colored monochromatic numbers make an entrance, exuding an air of studio readiness, while the darker ensembles revolving around voluminous coats evoke the backstage grit of theater dressing rooms.
Davis doesn’t shy away from injecting color. A striking V-neck and fluid field jacket make a bold statement in a sea of neutrals. The collection’s grand finale? Elegant tailoring and statement coats that harken back to Ferragamo’s craftsmanship, now reimagined for the modern stage.
