Fashion, like time, is cyclical. And these two concepts intertwine beautifully in the spring-summer 2024 collection from Filippa K. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the brand delves into its rich minimalist heritage, drawing particular inspiration from the iconic styles of the nineties.
This sense of time and fashion evolution is encapsulated by the words of Filippa K’s Creative Director, Liisa Kessler: “We asked ourselves how we can show the meaning of time within a minimal collection. We explored how we could inject a feeling of soul and emotion into the clothing. We wanted to introduce fabrics and textures that communicate a lived-in feeling without being too indulgent in our nostalgia.”
A compelling exploration of the sensation of time, the collection presents itself as a dreamlike bridge between the past and the future. It reverberates with the pulse of the brand’s minimalist instincts but is warmed by the soft hues of a Scandinavian summer.

The collection’s homage to the 90s is not just restricted to its clothing but extends to the crew that brings it to life. Photographer Timothy Schaumburg and stylist Ondine Azoulay weave a visual narrative that evokes a bygone era while maintaining a forward-looking perspective.
Meanwhile, the models are integral to this portrayal, embodying different aspects of Filippa K’s 90s aesthetics. Bilel Ahmed’s curly hair, Tim Prause’s soft waves, and Ante Bergman’s short cut, styled by Ramona Eschbach, all reflect the iconic hairstyles that ruled that decade.
When viewed in the context of the evocative backdrop, the minimalist style of the collection strikes a balance between a warm, nostalgic trip down memory lane and the fashion of the present.
