Giorgio Armani Returns to Its Roots

The Fashionisto / Published June 22, 2021

Giorgio Armani returns to its roots, going back to where it began on Via Borgonuovo. For spring-summer 2022, or “Back to Where It Started,” Armani is carefree and explores sentiments of freedom with menswear that embraces a more informal attitude. While relaxed styles are quintessential for the modern man, Armani remains steadfast to the idea of everyday elegance.

Armani’s carefully constructed lines come together in a sophisticated but dressed-down wardrobe. Fluid shapes emphasize classic sportswear from a contemporary perspective. Inspired by nature, splashes of green and red accent a neutral offering.

Giorgio Armani seeks to move away from formality by borrowing elements from casualwear. Armani’s man alternates between a wardrobe of coordinated pieces with the laid-back nature of Bermuda shorts while at the same time embracing tailoring in pieces like a suit jacket, cut similar to a denim jacket. At large, for spring, standout pieces evoke a certain lightness.
