For his fall-winter 2022 collection, Luca Larenza explores the relationship between the body and space. Furthermore, by creating a hybrid of a suit and a jumpsuit, Larenza illustrates the codependent dynamic between the two. The collection continues with graphic checkered merino knitwear in emerald and blue shades. Luca Larenza delivers a lineup of chic turtlenecks as well.
Luca Larenza enlists the assistance of photographer Lluis Camps to shoot the lookbook for his new collection in Milan. Larenza collaborates with Camps, overseeing the art direction and styling as well. Bano Sow takes the lead role as Larenza’s leading man for the season, with Alina Sponzilli in charge of grooming.
Exploring body and space, Larenza finds inspiration in the work of American artist Tschabalala Self. The 32-year-old artist is well-known for her mixed-media portrayals of black female figures with fabric, paint, and leftover bits from her earlier works. Self is a “fundamental inspiration, especially from the point of view of inclusiveness on the subject of the human body,” shares Larenza. “But her works have also contaminated the collection by adding certain colors.”
Vibrant shades of emerald green, light blue, and coral join gray and brown to color Luca Larenza’s fall-winter 2022 collection. The brand’s signature knitwear complements a range of standouts such as an oversized coat with concealed buttons–a physical “manifesto of the positivist seasonal attitude,” fashioned in wool and cashmere with a revived Prince of Wales pattern. The checkered bomber jackets in petroleum and white, constructed of a Mohair mix, provide an urban touch while caps and scarves with alternate designs complete Larenza’s collection.
