Roberto Cavalli Unveils Mike Tyson-themed Spring Collection

The Fashionisto / Published July 19, 2021

Roberto Cavalli is back in the ring with its spring-summer 2022 men’s collection. The Italian brand begins a new chapter with creative director Fausto Puglisi. The designer makes a splash with a collection inspired by famous boxer Mike Tyson.

Puglisi enlists Tyson to star in a collection video directed by Tommaso Ottomano. “Mike Tyson is one of the last living pop icons, and beyond being a boxing champion, he is also a stylish man, with a very personal and eccentric taste,” explains Puglisi.

“But more than the undisputed boxing champion and American icon, his personal story is also a tale of survival, struggle, and resilience. He embodies America in both the American Dream and all the possibilities it holds, but also its reverse.”

Tyson’s story complements Roberto Cavalli’s at this time. The fashion house navigates a new and uncertain era with all eyes on Puglisi. Looking ahead to the future, Cavalli’s signature animal prints fuel Puglisi’s vision for menswear with a bold approach to the season.

Photographed by Francis Delacroix, models Jaad Belgaid, Russel White, Madior Fall, Junho Ock, Jonas Barros, Alessio Pozzi, Andrea Silenzi, Paco Diouf, Hasan Ali, and Simone Bricchi capture the spirit of the new Cavalli man. Mike Tyson’s fighting spirit inspires a graphic, emboldened wardrobe. Leopard, tiger, and zebra prints come together, decorating everything from tailored blazers and Cuban-collared shirts to boxer-inspired shorts.
