Stella McCartney Champions Travel Style for Spring ’18 Collection

The Fashionisto / Published December 14, 2017

Stella McCartney solidifies its foray into menswear with the launch of a men’s dedicated Instagram. The British brand also kicks off the spring-summer 2018 season. McCartney’s collection represents a blend of positivity, escapism, freedom, and romance.

Relaxed silhouettes take hold of the season as looks reflect ideas of travel. Tropical prints capture the laid-back attitude of summer with palm trees, birds of paradise, hibiscus flowers, and volcanos. Not straying far from home, McCartney also features the English rose on silk jacquard shirts.

Meanwhile, organic cotton shorts take inspiration from boxer briefs. McCartney also pays a cheeky nod to travel by revisiting shirts and jackets with a “suitcase crease.” The work of Japanese airbrush artist Pater Sato further elevates the collection. Sato’s illustrations of tongues and Venus women dress shirts, lining, and the back of jackets. A champion of environment-friendly fashions, McCartney uses 67% sustainable materials for the collection. This includes sustainable viscose, recycled nylon, regenerated cashmere, eco alter nappa, organic cotton, and denim.
