The Kooples tackles classic horror movies from the 1930s through the 80s as the inspiration for its fall-winter 2018 collection. Men’s artistic director Alexandre Elicha references films such as Nosferatu and A Nightmare on Elm Street, as well as director Tim Burton. Graphic images pay homage to the films, while seamlessly blending with The Kooples’ rock ‘n’ roll heritage. The collection gets underway with a focus on oversized proportions. Embracing a subtle grunge aesthetic, tartan print shirts and jackets provide an effortless statement piece. Silk starter jackets, knit cardigans, and long-fit denim also contribute to the season’s look. Approaching tailoring, The Kooples executes drop shoulders and enlarged silhouettes.
