The Kooples describes its new collection as a rebel fused with urban elegance.
Creative director Alexandre Elicha takes inspiration from the filmography of Jim Jarmusch.
The Kooples pays a nod to nineties skate culture by turning its logo upside down for the collection. The key pieces such as the windbreaker, starter jacket, and t-shirt feature the revisited logo.
The spring-summer 2018 collection features mini-themes. The season opens with a renaissance theme of “Better en Noir.” Silkscreens and embroideries of guitars play out against light knitwear.
Suits feature printed lining and the complements of jewelry pins. Model Serge Rigvava stars as The Kooples’ protagonist for the season. He sports oversized Prince of Wales suits as well as casual jeans and high-waist trousers. You can find a streetwear influence in the collection as well. Souvenir jackets and baggy jeans join chic pieces such as a silk pajama shirt. Finally, t-shirts embrace a rockabilly character with tattoo-style sunscreens and destroyed jeans.
