Valentino Resort ’22 Collection Sees Everyday Couture Style

The Fashionisto / Published November 18, 2021

Valentino ventures outside its atelier to show off its men’s resort 2022 collection. Pierpaolo Piccioli enlists the help of photographer Michael Bailey Gates to document the excursion. The designer unveils the new Valentino collection in a calm atmosphere at Le Progrès, a café in the fashionable Parisian district of Marais.

Models Anis Ayoub, Daniel Pelofe, Gautier Deruche, Lucas Berny, and Magdaleno Delgado share the spotlight as Valentino’s modern men. Meanwhile, stylist Edward Bowleg III is hard at work styling a season of vibrant colors and daring silhouettes.

Having worked with Valentino since 2008, Piccioli has a good grip of the brand’s DNA while also striving to keep things new and in tune with modern trends in his role as creative director. While retaining a certain casualness as a residual of the global pandemic, the Valentino man sports a wardrobe that combines the ease of ready-to-wear apparel with the elegance of couture accents.

This concept presents itself in statement items such as a denim jean jacket fashioned to be something of a cape or a dress shirt constructed of lace, among other things. Valentino continues its modern couture story with footwear that incorporates distinctive elements into what would otherwise be an everyday article. From studded leather bags and spiked dress shoes to chunky color-blocked sneakers, there is something for everyone.
