Brands Ripping Off Converse Chuck Taylor All Star? The New York Times reports that Converse has filed twenty-two lawsuits in United States District Court in Brooklyn as of Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The suits accuse no less than thirty-one companies of trademark infringement. Converse chief executive Jim Calhoun says that “The goal really is to stop this action. I think we’re quite fortunate here to be in the possession of what we could consider to be an American icon.” The NIKE owned company hopes to get impostors removed from store shelves. Companies allegedly infringing on Converse’s trademark include Walmart, K-Mart and Sketchers.
