The Gandy Effect–After gracing the August 2012 cover of Elle Men China, Select model David Gandy appears in a stylish editorial, captured by the lens of photographer Lionel Guyou. Clad in a Dolce & Gabbana’s wardrobe that included sharp sartorial suits, optical white cotton shirts or more sporty pieces, the Essex-born model is the perfect choice to celebrate the fashion faces of Great Britain.
I’m no longer stunned by David in D&G it is and has been a working formula for quite a number of years. What stuns me is that he evidently gotten too big for the personal touch he use to have. Well, the best of luck to him, not that he needs it, I suppose it’s hard to be modest when you are #1 in the world at anything. He was a bright spot in the world for his humanness but now he’s just like the rest– a cold statue on a pedestal–an icon that is not quite human.
I’ve been a fan of David Gandy’s for about a year. How I wish I had discovered him sooner because he is AMAZING! I’ve messaged him a few times (not often–maybe once or twice a month) and he responds with a brief but very polite answer. My interaction with David Gandy and his many fans has led me to believe he is just as he seems in his Vogue blog: intelligent, funny, humble and a real person with real opinions but with an above-average focus on his career. I think all his fans should follow his official page: http://www.facebook.com/OfficialDavidGandy
