Yohji Yamamoto
Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese fashion designer. The esteemed designer splits his time between Tokyo and Paris. He is known for his own eponymous line and his on-going collaboration with Adidas, Y-3. Growing up in Tokyo, Yamamoto actually graduated from Keio University in 1966 with a law degree.
However, he gave up law to study fashion design, earning a degree from Bunka Fashion College in 1969. The fashion designer made his Parisian debut in 1983. Yamamoto’s approach to fashion includes a desire to make men’s clothes for women, aiding in an androgynous appeal.
