Quoted:

“There are the things you are missing, things you would like to have but cannot find, and little by little you come to discover there are people like you who are also missing certain things. You try to create for them, as well as for yourself. That’s how things start. I always tell myself, ‘I would like to have something like that, but it can’t be like that,’ and so on. You try to create because you want to find answers and, on finding the answers, you find something new that you can make.” – Ann Demeulemeester, 2006 GQ Style Interview

  1. Have you done features like this before? I like it.

For me personally Ann is a designer my tastes occasionally overlap with. We are sometimes on the same page and other times not. I go through phases like the moon. Nonetheless, the standards are there in her work season after season.

  3. Ian, this is the first one. Doing these little mini fact posts has been on my mind for months and lately with my interest in past seasons and more time, I thought why not? I think it is cool to look back. I’m afraid that I became jaded by reading too many discussions of people saying how alike each Ann collection was, but when you look back, they really are different and unique. Wish I could go back and grab some pieces from the beginning.
