Dolce & Gabbana celebrates music for spring-summer 2017. Known for its bravado when it comes to intricate prints, the Italian fashion house didn’t disappoint. Citing a variety of musical influences, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana looked to a diverse array of genres for inspiration. Injecting its novel tailoring and sportswear with an eclectic attitude, jazz, swing, hip-hop, dance and reggae were among the musical styles referenced.
Kicking off the show with models Presley Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s son) and Rafferty Law (Jude Law’s son), Dolce & Gabbana dived right into a joyous pace with a trim low peak lapel suit and a festive bomber jacket dressed with musical instruments. Turning out relaxed shapes, graphic t-shirts were elongated and oversized. Featuring jazz-inspired illustrations, black and white fashions made quite the powerful statement.
The leather varsity jacket was also revisited, making for a nostalgic urban moment, aided by stylish headphones for the season. Covering the man of Dolce & Gabbana for all occasions, the label continued to expand its range of loungewear with floor-length sleep shirts. Contrasted against polka dots, pinstripes were a timeless constant for Dolce & Gabbana’s spring outing.
Adding a glitzy flair, the fashion house’s dapper formalwear was joined by casual staples such as hooded sweatshirt, except updated with sequins. The bold move captured the fun spirit of Dolce & Gabbana’s adventurous man.
