Dries Van Noten draws inspiration from the eighties for his spring-summer 2018 collection. The Belgian designer marries a nostalgia for his label’s origins with a muted color scheme. Models took to the make-shift catwalk, which presented against a backdrop of the former offices of the French newspaper Liberation.

Making a case for modern book smarts, Van Noten’s geek-chic uniform revolves around relaxed proportions. Countering oversize shirts and sports jackets, the hemlines came up on shorts. Meanwhile, pleated trousers, boxy tees, and a subtle splash of prints rounded out Van Noten’s showing.
