Brit Abroad–E. Tautz designer Patrick Grant looked to distinguished explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger as the inspirational figure behind his spring/summer 2013 collection. Taking a rich heritage of tailoring and juxtaposing it with fun in the form of color and silhouette, a mix of the exotic safari and foreign shapes came together for an energetic showing. The show opened with a fantastic stream of fuchsia…an oversized cape, a sharp dress shirt, billowing trousers and a loose-fitting mandarin collar finished top. Inserting a bold yellow into the lineup, suiting continued its stride along sweaters boasting Thesiger’s silhouette, a minimalist trench and countless other pieces. Altogether, E. Tautz’s latest collection possessed a certain fluidity with a relaxed mood giving the brand’s sartorial signature a fresh breath of air.
