Marie Claire UK spotlights men’s grooming for its December 2017 issue. The magazine turns to male models for grooming tips. Luc Coiffait photographs the outing. Taking their turn in the spotlight, models Sebastian Sauvé, Asa Freeman, Glen Abrantes, Alex Dragulele, and Toby Huntington-Whiteley come together. Lisa Oxenham styles the photo shoot while Jody Taylor handles grooming.

Sebastian Sauvé on Grooming: Lucas Papaw is an amazing product, and essential oils such as sandalwood and cedarwood do a lot for mind and respiratory wellness. I’m also getting into coconut oil–it’s a wonder drug and I put it on my skin every day. I’d love to go to the Dead Sea as I get psoriasis–I’ve tried a lot of remedies–my mum once told me to sit in a cold bath for four hours with Himalayan salt, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar, and the flakes fell off leaving me with baby-soft skin underneath. In general, I use a little Gillette shaver (which lasts forever), Old Spice deodorant (because it isn’t an antiperspirant) and one good bar of no-soap soap.
Asa Freeman 2017 Marie Claire UKPin
Asa Freeman on Grooming: I’ve always had sensitive skin, so I exfoliate every other day–instead of using a harsh scrub once a week, I do it gently and more often. I’m a fan of Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub as it has rice in it. I then use Simple Deep Cleansing Face Mask and Aveeno, a wheat-based moisturizer.
Glen Abrantes 2017 Marie Claire UKPin
Glen Abrantes on Grooming: I use coconut oil on my face and body after every shower–it makes my skin really smooth. It’s a tip I picked up from my girlfriend.
Alex Dragulele Marie Claire UK 2017Pin
Alex Dragulele on Grooming: Looking after my skin is my top priority, so I see a dermatologist once a month. She uses lactic acid, which clears my skin. I also make time at home for a proper routine. I use an oil-free cleanser and moisturizer by day, which won’t block my pores. Then, at night, I use a retinol-based cream. To relax my body and keep a fresh mind, I meditate once or twice a week using the Headspace app.
Toby Huntington-Whiteley 2017 Marie Claire UKPin
Toby Huntington-Whiteley on Grooming: Using paraben-free products is important to me, so I buy moisturiser and face wash from Planet Organic or Wholefoods. I use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Floris Shaving Soap. I can’t have a beard or stubble with my job, so I shave a lot and that gives me spots around my chin. To combat that I change my razor blades often, don’t touch my skin and keep it as clean as possible.
