Enrique Gonzalez Rangel is a Mexican designer, stylist and the co-founder of the store Clinica in Mexico City. Enrique is also a contributor to Diane Pernet’s blog, A Shaded View of Fashion. Through his label EGR, Enrique showcases a diverse range of menswear and womenswear, always with an Urban and Gothic-glam style. This style is notorious in his most recent collection, which he calls “Glam meets Pancho Villa”. The collection references militaristic silhouettes inspired by Pancho Villa and the Mexican Revolution of 1910, but is stylized with a 70’s rock vibe. An elegant view is represented by silk shirts with transparent details that offer a mystery and sensuality. Mixing perfectly with varied materials like wool, silk and leather, the predominantly black color palette is accented with hints of dark gray, saddle-brown and silver. Overall, the collection makes a lasting impression with edgy looks that are high on impact, but conscious of proportions and fit.
