Ermenegildo Zegna Couture creative director Stefano Pilati champions the brand’s history of eco-sustainability for his fall-winter 2015 collection. Imagining the uniform of an eco-leader for the season, Pilati delivers a lineup that utilizes storied fabrics such as Harris Tweeds as a message of recycling. The idea of protecting the environment comes about with broken suits, composed of velvet and corduroy. Paired with tailored trousers that are often finished with elastic bottoms for a sporty purpose, jackets with pleats and gathers contribute to a collection dressed in shades of gray, brown, sage, red and dark blue. Bringing the season full circle, boots and shoes were covered by elements of protection while bags presented pieces for a hybrid market of luxury and sporty conscience.
